Subject: Tip-toing among the partial covers

Stephen,

Well, with 2005 I ran into some fancier colors and the translation from bmp to interlaced gif got ugly results. Still, you can use this on top in that Christmas add:

I might blow up to pixel-size and get a cleaner thing around the e and s, if ye hand me a cup of coffee while I'm doing it, or a hot buttered rum, maybe, before I leap into the pixelsea....

Anyway, over on the right you do not have a lot of room, so here is the "tiny" partial covers. Not all the exact same size and you might have to stack links above them (as, here, in 2006).

On upper right of Juice online 2006 "cover":

     Browse Archived Copy
     Order CD Copy
     Order CD Copy
     Order CD Copy

Actually, you could use the "tiny"s in even that ad (and keep them at left margin, indenting only links) to go out, with the 2005 one for visit (and CD pre-order) and the 2004 for archived and CD, and the 2003 for CD only. Then, this way in 2006. Then, I don't have to fix that big sucker with wild bmp-to-gif color distortions....

I think, too, having the size's not pushed into uniformity ADDS TO the "partial cover" look. Of course, I'm biased by a deep-seated tendency to avoid labor....

"Order Copy" is BIG DEAL on a cover. "Visit", "Browse", where applicable, are also big deals, like putting page numbers on features on covers, and, hyperzining, that's always links, as actual page or scroll numbers will make no sense. When a browser prints a scroll, it inserts page numbers on the printed pages.

I do hope your mail reader shows these looking like they look here...,
