Stephen,

Blinding flashes back and forth between mountain tops. As it should be. Lightning. Yes, every time I go up to Juice something looks just a little bit better. Signs of broom strokes. Little blocks of time a valuable resource. The way I first hear it was, "If it wasn't for the last minute nothing would ever get done!".

Playing with what you love is how love gets solid'd up. All play and no work is what gets work really done.

Back of the head pot to boil for January. you're getting juice online really looking fine. Keep in mind that this initial or over-all look is the cover of the hyperzine. So, you've got to have an obviously new (distinguishable) cover for the 2006. But keep a uniformity, too, like successive covers on magazines. Now, 2005 is in several places, on logos and such. 2006 the same. For over-all look, one thing to consider is a different color scheme, but one that in itself is as fine. With annual publication, you can even go back and forth as you'll only have one archived on line, so the two side by side. On the other hand, by 2007 you might want it different.

A little more complex, but okay in late night daydreaming sessions, you might even consider putting "blocks" of the page in different spaces, possibly with different shapes. Just one notion that mocks sites but can have an "above the fold" (newspaper idea) look about it. Above the top logo and poetry TOC, across top, colorful, have "eletters" and some of "features" like "Author Intros" (they aren't all bios) and even "CD Copies".

Since the main logo area will be distinctive for 2005 and 2006, though 2003, 2004 may look very like 2005, try this. Make images (screen images) of the 2003, 2004 and 2005 main logo bar. Over on the right where you have the link to the archived 2005, put these images, 2005 at the top, 2004 under that and 2003 at the bottom. Two links over the 2005. "Browse Archive Copy" and "Order CD Copy". Over each of the others have only "Order CD Copy". Hell, you might put the two for 2004 and 2003 up on the 2005 copy for the hell of it. When 2005 goes on CD (same later for 2006) those link will, I assume, be changed so both just give ordering information (no archived copy within an archived, CD, copy). That will be like the little ordering cards blown into magazine pages.

Down at the bottom of every issue's main page: "Hypercover design by Juice squad". Make them think of this first-seen (first-scene) as a cover. No fuss, no muss, no buss! Then, any whose curiosity isn't wholly atrophied c'n wonder about just what, here, is "the cover".

Well, gotta go. I see about three of your Re: to the oops label. I'll come back, later.

Best,

Gene

gotcha
You found it in a blinding flash. I'm still fine tuning the look of things, and hopefully as I go, I'll get more done. If you want to direct, suggest, from where you are, just jump right in. Not quite finals week, and I've got this little block of time to play with what I love.

Yo, Stephen,

You've got the newest memo up in a blinding flash of speed. And when it's probably coming on toward finals week and all.

But, the labeling in eletters should be:

Memo #1 on 2006 Juice online

While you have:

Jamming Memo #1

That's mixing the two titles. Memo #1 is looking forward. Just above it in the list, you should have the one closing up the line-stacking jam session,

Jamming on "Ballad of the Green Sky"

And that's the one made from the post. Instead of worrying about copies I sent you, before and after putting in some jump links, just download the browser file from my site:

http://home.earthlink.net/~acorioso/JammingBalladGreenSky.htm
Put it in the eletters directory and if either of the two mailings got in there (the second was like this one), this'll just go over.

Remember to list it above Memo #1.

I see "John" and a little square dot ...like something's coming down in list 2. Great.

I assume you're following poor John's (Bennett) buffeting in the cyber-blizzard. Hey soos! As if it weren't difficult enough getting bits out into the stream without Moloch swallowing them. All the crap Earthlink could filter out and they pick on one old hermit with a harmonica.

Be well,

Gene
