"FADE "

Sylphs and angels with snakes and

Dripping swords materialize from

Moving clouds.

Ribbons of black air vibrate on

The highway like electric mirages

In the distance.

Just mere measures played

In short passages in an

Optical opus.

Ruminating the refrain . . .

"How easily fade away".

A sun set, a rainbow

A held not or staccato

How easily fade away.

Foam clouds make galactic spirals

In a cup of tea, feel the air

Turn humid from the rising steam.

Silver objects and guitar chords

Play call-and-response , seeking

Analogous vibration,

Hear the atmosphere sing,

Then, nothing.

The spoken word given as a vow

On the moment of sincerity gets

Taken as carved-in-stone,

Hear the strain of heart-strings

Play: How easily fade away .

Why? Phenomena live independent

Of the moments they appear;

What is love? What is life?

What is death? What is time?

For an instant, A glissando

How easily fade away.

Eyes pass each other everyday

On the street and see what they

Want to see.

Energy passes with moving glances

From human optical illusions.

We’re just music notes

Measured out in sidewalk

Staff notation,

We sing the refrain . . .

"How easily fade away"

A young man growing old,

An old man becoming young,

A warrant of life for the newborn,

A prayer for peace the dying.

How easily fade away. . .

spacer The far, star light, the tail lights

Of a car, and the darkness.

A hug hello, a kiss goodbye;

A train whistle blows

Then, silence.
